I haven’t seen Elm trees for over 50 years…well there are a few here and there around Ithaca. It’s like Ontario, Canada never heard of the dutch elm disease. A whole fence line of them were seen as I passed on my way to Tobermory and the ferry. And that line of clouds stood firm all morning, always present. This section of Ontario was quite flat and could be seen as prairie if it weren’t for all the trees. And these trees, like all their brothers, are providing us with oxygen and helping to maintain that delicate balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide we need to be able to live on this planet. It’s all quite miraculous if you think about it. This is 5.9″ x 11.8″ using pencil and watercolor on cotton paper and I like it a lot. $50 unframed.
