Fingerlakes Trail # 29

From my walk on Monday along the FLT. I walked along Alpine Rd. to make a loop back to the vehicle. The road climbed to a hilltop and there I was able to cut into the woods following an old logging trail. I learned awhile ago about a word petrichor, which means the smell after a rain. Now I wonder if there is a similar word for the smell of leaves decomposing in the fall. All senses were on high alert during this outing. This is 8″ x 8″ using pencil and watercolor on paper.
