An afternoon walk at the foot of our lake with a monarch on the thistle. The osprey baby was stretching its wings but not taking off this day. A week later and he’s gone. Yesterday there was only one in the nest and as we walked somewhat near wondering which of the family remained. Then, as if sensing our queries, it flew right towards us in answer. We thought it was the baby but who knows. This is 9″ x 12″ using pencil, watercolor and gouache on cotton paper.
