Finding places to walk without guns during deer season can be a challenge. This is from an outing on a cold snowy day along Fall Creek on the eastern side. There’s a Dryden Rail Trail and off that are a couple of marked paths…one red and one yellow. This is on the red path. It’s pretty muddy in some spots, bow hunting is allowed with special permission from Cornell and it’s an interesting wander thru some woods. It all felt quite safe to me but what do I know. I know this one took 2.5 days to finish. It’s 9″ x 12″ using pencil, watercolor and gouache on cotton paper.
Enjoying your series and blog. I used to live in Rome, out in the country, when I was a kid. I miss it so much at times, and it is great to revisit it in paintings.
