Returning home on Wednesday I stopped at Sampson State Park for a dip in Seneca Lake. These 2 trees were in full color, getting a jump on every other one in the neighborhood. The cold comes, the tree shuts of the sap to the leaves, the photosynthesis stops and the sugars in the leaves determine the color. Remarkable. This is 5.9″ x 11.8″ using pencil and watercolor on cotton paper.
