Last Sunday I rode around the county for 5 hours and kept seeing beauty wherever I turned. It’s corn season and it and soybeans are everywhere. Alfalfa is planted too and it’ll be ready next spring. There’s still some dairys that are functioning in the area and they’re all bigger ones… 5,000 cows in one of them. This patch is on Storm Rd above the Salmon Creek valley. Beyond the far hill is the Cayuga Lake basin. It was a great day for riding and to top it off I stopped and found an old friend at home. Where else would he be in the social distancing era. We talked and caught up for a good while and I continued home with a light heart. This one is 5.9″ x 11.8″ using pencil, watercolor and gouache on cotton paper.
