Roadside Attraction #157

Another vignette from Tuesday’s bike ride shown here. East Spencer Rd. is the site and the creek water is high. And it’s also a most striking color. 70 degree weather and visits to friends made for a wonderful bike ride. 12″ x 9″ using pencil, pen, gouache and watercolor on Waterford cotton paper. $85 unframed but because i like it it’ll soon be in a frame and cost a bit more.

  1. Hi Tommy – This is an inviting and complex painting with many layers and colors. I love the sunny field behind the hedgerow in the background, nicely lit to make it the focal point for the whole scene, at least for me. The green in the winding stream sets it off, the reflection of the clouds in the standing water is interesting, trees nicely painted and edged with white, sky blue sky that looks like springtime. Lots to draw me into the place you saw.
