From a recent stroll thru the Kingsbury Preserve on Jersey Hill Rd. comes this portrait of the fields at the Wood’s Edge. It’s a lovely walk, of maybe a little over an hour…2.6 miles maybe. I’ve been there right after the tornado hit the woods many years ago and it was an absolute mess. Now it’s very pleasant and I must say that I’ve gone in with an ax and cleared some trees from the pathways. A chainsaw also has been there recently and I was glad to see the bigger trees were removed using it. My thanks to the sawyer. This is 16″ x 12″ and uses pen, pencil and watercolor on cotton paper. $100 unframed. But I painted this size to fit in some wonderful found frame so…when it’s placed therein it’ll cost a bit more.
Hi Tommy – A lovely painting with fine details in the bare trees, a complex scene that kept me looking at it for quite a while. Then I noticed the 2 odd evergreens in the middle of the distant meadow, seen through the arch, evoking something, adding mystery…. And I like the subtle blue of the clouds too- they look real. love, Sara

Thanks, Candy. I was well pleased with my rendering of the leaves, my best effort in that area so far.
