Hector Backbone Yet Again

This cloud study is from a walk on the Hector Backbone on an absolutely beautiful day. I was off the Interloken trail messing around in the trees that edge the fields searching for mushrooms. I found a few older edible chanterelles but I guess the season has passed for them. This was a pretty good year for me in finding them on Connecticut Hill. Recently I stumbled on clumps of them on some seldom trod paths in heavily wooded hillsides. I guess the shade has delayed their fruiting…lucky for me. This one is 8″ x 8″ using pencil and watercolor on cotton paper. $50 unframed
