Roadside Attraction #128

Returning from a trip to Syracuse I travelled along A certain Cobb St. which has been recently paved for the first time. i was struck by the shapes of the spruce trees near the farm buildings. This is 20″ x 14″ using pencil, pen and watercolor on Waterford 130# paper. $150 unframed

  1. Very nice country scene. As with some of your other paintings, I want to crop off the top 25% of this one. (Sometimes I want to crop from the bottom 25%). The balance of sky and land works better for me without that much sky and when cropped by covering the top with my ruler, I notice more of the farm scene. It feels like I enlarged the painting.

I wonder: perhaps your best frame to work in is a wide rectangle instead of the standard that is closer to the golden? love, Sara
