This is the Shrine of the Bab which means the gate in Arabic. It’s located on Mt Carmel in Haifa, Israel and surrounded by beautiful gardens. This is a view that struck me on my recent 9 day pilgrimage to visit the Baha’i holy places in February. I plan to do more of the sites that are associated with the lives of the founders of the Faith. This was winter and it is the rainy season there. Everything was brilliant green and lots of water standing in the fields. But when the sun shone, the blues were remarkable between the sky and the seas. This is 14″ x 20″ using pencil, pen and watercolor on cotton paper. I have gallery show this coming fall and think I should save it till after that event. Peaches will add some poetry to every piece in the show.
