I had just been dropped off North of Gillette when a bunch of storms began to coalesce in the area. Having just passed a large pit mine which had drawn my full attention, I glanced behind and saw this yellow light behind the storm clouds. Amazing phenomena was my thought. I was glad that I only caught the edge of the storms and not the full blast with its attending hail and lightning. That light rain accompanied me for 3 plus hours but kept things cool on the long ride to Broadus, Mt. where I slept near the visitors center. It’s 5.9″ x 11.8″ using pencil and watercolor on cotton paper. $50 unframed.
