It was a beautiful cool morning and fog had not yet risen from the surrounding fields. The light was special and I have had a go at it. This was a day that I experienced some absolutely incredible heat, went swimming in 2 lakes and one stream, viewed the infamous twine ball museum in Darwin, visited some wonderful contacts from last year’s ride in Dassel, faced wicked head winds at the storms front and then hail and rain. I missed the bulk of the storm by surreptitiously booking a hotel room. Next day I see photos of trees down and large hailstones that had fallen in a nearby town. Really dodged some horrid weather that night and am grateful there was a town with lodging. It’s again, 9″ x 12″ using pencil, watercolor and gouache on paper.
This one highlights your talent for allowing the viewer to ‘feel’ the atmosphere you describe. Really a stunning painting.

Thanks again. And I am hoping that at some point I won’t have to write anything. There’s something to strive for.
