Eastern S. Dakota Prairie

IMG_3057.jpg

In the Northeast corner of S. Dakota there are lots of little kettle lakes, this being more of a pond shown here. I loved the way the cows have trimmed the trees from below. And the only place you’ll see trees is alongside waterways or at someones homesite used as a windbreak. The rest is grassland, rolling hills and hummocks of grassland as far as the eye can see.   It’s 9″ x 12″ using watercolor, pencil and gouache on cotton paper
