Just east of Appleton was the biggest silo for grain I had seen so far. The railroad was brought right up to it also. Trucks are used locally but for long haul it’s all by trains nowadays. A few days earlier there was a family we dined with and John, who had invited Darwin and his daughter and guest, was quoting the number of bushels of corn a silo could hold and how many railcars it would take to empty one of them. It was a lot of corn. It’s 9″ x 12″ using pencil and watercolor on paper. $ 125
