Yesterday while waiting for the ferry across the Sound, I rough sketched some Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar and Madrona trees. I hope I have that right. I was told that there are some Redwoods planted in this park too. They usually don’t grow this far north. Sun here seems precious to me. It’s 9″ x 12″ using pencil, watercolor and gouache on paper.
My daughter Tekla in western Washington said she recognized many of the places in your Seattle paintings!
