So Saturday I went out for a bike ride exploring some of the Southwest of the city. Parts were real working class and as usual there are some fine vehicles scattered thruout. Here’s a nice old Ford pickup with the classic turquoise and white scheme. One could do a series just on cars and trucks found with these 2 colors from the late 50’s to early 60’s. It’s spring time here also and trees are budding beautifully. 9″ x 12″ watercolor, pencil and gouache on paper used here.
So glad you gave up on the idea of painting in black and white. How could you capture the 50’s look of that truck or the yellowish green of tree buds without all your beautiful colors? Nice to see you’re having a wonderful time in Seattle.
