Beach Series # 6

It’s so hot here that to continue the painting regimen during the day I sit inside in the cool looking out. But this does give one a good impression of the “sea wall” just outside across the street which protects these houses from the ravages of high tides and hurricanes. Many of the other homes in the neighborhood are new (and some are particularly ugly) because the older ones were wiped out in a 90’s hurricane. Our rental is a 60’s A frame and it survived probably because it didn’t provide as much surface for the wind to catch and tear it apart.

It’s a small 4-5/8″ x 5-7/8″ using pencil and watercolor on paper.
